Born and raised in Lebanon, Mark Spurgeon, Owner & Operator of DVW of the Valley, comes from a family of loggers. Mark is married to Tami Volz, from Sweet Home, and has 2 boys and 3 step-sons (a basketball team, which is great because basketball is his favorite sport and he plays 3 times a week). Having earned degrees from LBCC and OSU in Engineering and Liberal Arts, Mark has worked as a Manufacturing Technician, Product Engineer, and a Manufacturing Planner. He has also exercised his skills building and remodeling multiple homes and outbuildings for himself and for friends. Prior to starting Dryer Vent Wizard of the Valley, Mark worked locally for Wimer Logging, Evanite Fiber, Mitsubishi Silicon, and, most recently, Wah Chang.
Mark has been in the "prevention business" for years, in both his personal and work life. He strives to prevent injuries, mechanical breakdowns, fires, material outages, and limiting waste. He even likes to use FIFO (First In, First Out) to maintain a clean refrigerator, which can drive his wife crazy. Mark's desire to help others prevent fires and save energy was a great driver to open Dryer Vent Wizard of the Valley.
Community involvement and giving back are also important to Mark. Mark has donated time to these great causes: Mild Valley Special Needs Prom, Lebanon Community School Dist. Foundation Car Show, West Albany Key Club 5K Run, Strawberry Century Bike Ride, and Cascades Elementary Outdoor Camp Fundraiser.
